Pre-New Year's Resolution

It has come to our attention that we haven't updated the blog in some time...whoops! Things here are busier than ever. Last week we took Mackenzie to Rock City for the Christmas lights and to the TN Aquarium for Caroling with the Fishes. She had a blast dancing to all the music and watching the fish swim around. Her favorite part is the sea horses. We also knocked out a Christmas party. One down, 6 to go! I can't believe it's December already and it's flying by. Volkswagen is going great and I'm still doing the high school full-time as well. Sally is plenty busy at the therapy clinic and Mackenzie has been enjoying school. I said "one" tonight, and she responded "two...three". She learns something new every day. It's our pre-New Year's resolution to keep this blog updated as best we can. You know how it goes though! We hope everyone is doing well and we'll hopefully see you over the holidays.

Busy!

Man, seems like the summer is just flying by. It's been a whirlwind since her birthday. Sally and I have been working non-stop. I put in 82 hours just last week between my regular job and transcription. Football starts in two weeks so who knows when I'll be updating next...so enjoy this one! Mackenzie had her 1st year pictures done a couple weeks back and we got them back. I'll post a few more on the picture page. Hope everyone is having a good summer!

It's May!

I can't believe it's May already. Spring football started yesterday and it'll run for three weeks. We've been doing a lot of yard work and we will probably get our garden planted this weekend. It's also Mother's Day weekend and we're headed to the lake. The water is almost all the way up and the fish are moving in. We had a pool party last night on a Monday. The water is still a little chilly for us, but the boys had a good time. Mackenzie enjoyed watching them jump in and out of the pool. Talk to you soon!

Cornbread Festival!

Time for another update! Mackenzie is now 10 months old! It won't be long until we're celebrating her birthday. We've been working outside a lot getting the yard nice and neat. I've been doing a little fishing here and there. This last Friday I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm still living on chicken broth and ice cream though. Today, we went to the National Cornbread Festival in South Pittsburgh, TN. It's about 20 minutes from the house. They had cornbread contests, rides, games, Barney Fife, and all kinds of food I couldn't eat. Frank won a rabbit throwing ping pong balls. Now, it's back to work tomorrow. Talk to you all later!

BUSY!

Wow, can't believe it's been a month since the last update...sorry about that folks. Since then, I've been to Panama City and back. We also made a pilgrimage to the motherland...Indiana. It was good to see a lot of family in the short time we had up there. Unfortunately, I developed jaw/tooth pain and will be having my wisdom teeth pulled on 4/23. Luckily, they're putting me completely out! Other than that, spring has sprung and Mackenzie is very happy! She loves playing outside with Josie and crawling through the grass. She likes to pick grass and wave her hands around as the wind blows it. We're planning on building her a swing set in the next week or so as an early birthday present. She's also pulling herself up to her feet and taking one or two steps before falling back down to her knees. Again, sorry for the delay in updates! Two more months until the little monster's birthday!

It's March!

It's finally March! The weather today was great and will hopefully stay that way. I don't think we need any more snow down here. We went to Louisville last weekend to meet Mom and Mamaw and have a "relax" weekend. Mackenzie enjoyed the hotel and visiting with Grammy and Mamaw. She has learned to clap now and thinks it's hilarious. She's not quite crawling, but it won't be long until she's all over the house. She gets up on her hands and knees and just rocks, but ends up sliding backwards. She started pulling up on her crib, so we had to lower the bed. She's going to be crazy! Hope everybody is doing well. We're planning on coming up over Easter. We'll let everybody know when we're passing through.

Hey hey!

Got some more pictures uploaded to the computer so I thought I'd put them on here. We had a slumber party with Tripp's girls the other night and Sally decided it would be fun to give them all a bath at the same time...haha. Mackenzie was fine until the screaming and splashing...then she wanted out. Looks like pretty good weather this weekend. As usual for February, I bought a boat...haha. It's just a two-man boat to put in the creeks/streams around here to get my fix until I get another bass boat. Until next time...

I'm back!

Well, I finally got my computer back up and running. Windows kept crashing the computer, so I had to swap hard drives and now I'm running a backup hard drive so nothing is lost should it crash again...whew!

Things here are good. We're all finally sickness free and Mackenzie has two more teeth coming through. She's got the top four and two bottoms now. She took her first "crawl" today which was a push forward with her left knee...haha. So, she's figured out how to move forward after rolling sideways and pushing backwards. She's also eating more solid foods like rice cakes and cheesy poofs for babies.

Next weekend we're heading to Louisville to meet Mom and Mamaw for a weekend of indoor swimming and relaxing. We can't wait for that and Mackenzie can't wait to wear her two piece bikini. We'll take plenty of pictures I'm sure.

Tonight we're having a slumber party with Tripp's girls. The house is going crazy with a bunch of girlie screams...haha.

Well, that's all for now. I'll try to be a little more regular now that I have my computer back. Talk to you later!

Sickness be gone!

Well...it's time for an update! Things around here are going pretty well. Mackenzie is sitting up on her own and is starting to cut her top front teeth. We've all been sick in one way or another since the last post. Pink eye, ear infection, cold, and laryngitis have all hit different people...I've had it all...haha. But, I think we're turning a corner in the sickness category. Winter sports are in their last two weeks and spring sports start Monday. I'm happy to be back outside, but hope the weather will cooperate. Other than that, things are pretty much the same. We're just working and enjoying the new things Mackenzie picks up on. She had her first bubble bath the other night and REALLY liked it. She plays in the big tub now that she can sit up. She's starting to get to her belly and pull her knees up to her stomach. She pushes but goes backwards...haha. It won't be long before she'll be all over the house. Well, that's all for now. We are planning on coming up to Indiana sometime in April. I'll keep everybody posted on that. Take it easy!

Happy New Year!

I can't believe the holidays are over already. It seems like Halloween was just here last week and now we're in 2010. We had a great holiday season even though it seemed a little short. We're all ready to start the new year and get back to our normal work routine. The Blizzard of 2010 is here right now and the schools are closing like crazy...haha. It's funny what a little flurries will do. Thanks to everyone for all of our Christmas goodies! I think Mackenzie really enjoyed her first Christmas and opening all her presents. Thanks again!
